Scope

2. What this policy covers

This policy applies to personal information collected through dockerbikes.com.au, checkout, waitlist / Dispatch signup, My Docker accounts, partner (dealer) applications, customer support emails, and related Stripe payment processing for purchases from us.
We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), as applicable to our business.
Collection

3. Information we collect

  • Identity & contact: name, email, phone, shipping and billing address.
  • Purchase & account: order details, product choices (model/colour), fulfilment method, payment status (processed by Stripe — we do not store full card numbers), My Docker login credentials (password stored as a secure hash).
  • Preferences: marketing opt-in, waitlist interests, optional messages you send us.
  • Technical: IP address, browser type, device/approx. location signals, cookies and similar technologies needed for security, session, consent, and analytics (see cookie banner on the site).
  • Partner applications: business name, contact details, suburb, and notes you submit for dealer access.
Use

4. How we use it

  • To take and fulfil orders, arrange delivery or pickup, and provide receipts / My Docker access.
  • To respond to enquiries, warranty and service requests, and operational updates about your bike.
  • To send transactional emails (order confirmation, account setup). Marketing emails only where you have opted in or as otherwise permitted by law (you can unsubscribe).
  • To operate, secure, and improve the website (fraud prevention, debugging, aggregate analytics).
  • To comply with legal obligations (tax, consumer law, accounting).
Disclosure

5. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information.
We may disclose information to service providers who help us operate (for example Stripe for payments, email delivery providers, hosting on our Australian VPS, and our authorised WA stockist for pickup/demo coordination where relevant to your order). These parties may only use information to perform services for us.
We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect our rights, customers, or safety.
Overseas

6. Overseas disclosure

Some processors (for example payment or email infrastructure) may store or process data outside Australia. Where we disclose personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps consistent with the APPs to ensure it is handled appropriately.
Security

7. Security & retention

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information (HTTPS, access controls on ops systems, hashed passwords). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
We retain order and account records for as long as needed for fulfilment, warranties, accounting, and legal requirements, then delete or de-identify when no longer required.
Rights

8. Access, correction & complaints

You may request access to, or correction of, your personal information by emailing info@dockerbikes.com.au. We will respond within a reasonable time.
If you believe we have breached the APPs, contact us first. If unresolved, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC): oaic.gov.au.

Our products and site are directed to adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16 for marketing purposes.
