Docker is not a rebadge. It is a product written as a brief, then engineered as a whole — with people who have spent their working lives inside electric bikes.
Docker started with Charly and Matt. Their paths in the bike industry collided in Fremantle. Over many pub lunches at Clancy’s fish pub they fine-tuned their design specifications for Electric Fat Bike models that suit youths, commuters and parents. Matt has nearly 20 years experience in electric bicycle component and safety design and Charly has years of experience working in bicycle shops, as a bicycle courier and product development and marketing. Their goal is to bring an extremely high performance, safe and practical range of electric fat bicycles to Fremantle and the rest of Australia.
Both of their bicycle mechanic skills and component knowledge are superb and they regularly travel overseas to see the latest products on the market and engage directly with factories. The year of 2026 is the year they will launch their first Docker Fat Tyre Bikes and hopefully will be the year the Fremantle Dockers bring the flag home!
Docker started as directives, not a catalogue: everyday freedom, honest capability, a finished machine rather than a white-label box with a badge. Frame, electronics, handover, and the digital experience around them were specified together.
We flew to China Cycle 2026 with a written specification, not a shopping list. We asked four questions on every stand: will you build to our frame or only sell us yours? Which components do you actually use? Can you meet Australian and European standards? Will you still talk to us after the money clears? Most partners were ruled out on the first question.

Two professional cycling associates travelled with the team for the show — present in a professional capacity, not as Docker founders.
Once the brief was locked, production followed the ride — frames on the line, finishes checked, then boxed and staged for the first container to Fremantle. Matt is writing a fuller factory diary next; these frames show the process as it really looks.
What arrives in Western Australia is the result of that collaboration: a machine as considered as the digital experience around it, with people who stay close after the handover.
